Young musician Shaheen from Banswara is bringing Indian classical music to the global stage and earning international recognition. Currently based in Poland, he is training foreign students in Indian classical music. Under his guidance, students from various European countries are learning the intricacies of Indian ragas, talas, and traditional instrumental music.
Over the past decade, Shaheen has established himself as a distinguished ambassador of Indian classical music by performing across several European countries. He has presented acclaimed concerts in the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, and other nations. His performances have been highly appreciated by music enthusiasts, leading to a growing interest among European students in learning Indian classical music.
Shaheen belongs to a family with a rich musical heritage. His grandfather, Ahmed Hussain, was a renowned vocalist, while his father, Iqbal Parvez, has also been closely associated with music. Shaheen received his early musical training in Banswara before pursuing a Master’s degree in Music.
According to Shaheen, the fascination for Indian classical music among young people in Europe is steadily increasing. Foreign students are particularly eager to learn Indian ragas, the tala system, and traditional Indian musical instruments. He believes that Indian classical music is not merely a form of entertainment but also a powerful reflection of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
