
On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, SAL Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and SAL Hospital organized a Yoga Awareness Programme on Saturday based on this year’s global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Nitin Shah, CEO, and Dr. Jayendra Singh Jadeja, Dean, SAL Institute. Students, interns, faculty members, doctors, and healthcare professionals enthusiastically participated in the event.
A special yoga session was conducted under the guidance of expert yoga instructor Ms. Prerna Gupta, who highlighted the importance of regular yoga practice. She explained that yoga plays a significant role in maintaining physical health, mental balance, flexibility, and healthy ageing. Participants actively took part in the yoga session and discussed the importance of incorporating yoga into their daily lives.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nitin Shah, CEO of SAL Institute, stated that regular healthcare and a healthy lifestyle are essential for building a healthy society. He emphasized that yoga is a simple yet powerful practice that helps individuals remain physically and mentally fit throughout life and reduces the burden of lifestyle-related diseases.
Dr. Jayendra Singh Jadeja, Dean of SAL Institute, encouraged students and healthcare professionals to become ambassadors of health awareness in society. He urged future doctors to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and healthy ageing among the general public.
The programme was organized with the support of IPCA Laboratories Ltd. As part of the awareness campaign, 100 yoga mats were distributed to participants to encourage regular yoga practice.
In addition, students and interns who actively participated in the International Yoga Day activities and the health camp organized at Sola Bhagwat Old Age Home were specially honored. They received certificates of appreciation for their contribution to promoting the global message of “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”
The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Parijat Goswami, Head of the Department of Microbiology. SHe played an active role in planning and organizing the event and effectively coordinated among participants, speakers, and organizers through efficient stage management.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge to make yoga a part of daily life and to spread awareness about its benefits throughout society. On this occasion, SAL Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and IPCA Laboratories Ltd. reaffirmed their commitment to building a healthier and more aware society.
